Mountain Gorillas are some of the world’s most endangered species with about 1000 individuals remaining in the wilds of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the Virunga Massif. Bwindi only is home to nearly half of the remaining Gorilla population and it is one of Uganda’s Premier destination, located in the southwestern part of the country and recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site.
The park covers an area of about 321sq.km with an altitude of 1160 to 2607metres above sea level; it is characterized by tangled vegetation, steep slippery valleys and high-draughty ridges. It’s challenging terrain and chilly weather makes tracking these sought after individuals just epic. On this safari you will trek the misty ranges of Bwindi looking out for these great Apes.
