Flight Delays & Cancellations

Flight delays and cancellations are an unfortunate but common part of air travel. Weather disruptions, technical issues, and air traffic control, among other challenges, can cause unexpected changes to your planned journey. While it can be frustrating, knowing your rights and the steps to take can ease the stress.

If your flight is delayed or has a schedule change, airlines often provide updated information through different

channels, depending on how far in advance the change occurs, such as airport screens, emails, or SMS notifications. For short delays that may happen while you’re at the airport, you may simply need to wait at the gate. However, if delays extend beyond a few hours, especially when a passenger is in transit, some airlines may provide meals, refreshments, or even accommodation, depending on the circumstances and the route.

In the event of a cancellation, airlines may offer passengers the option to rebook on the next available flight, request a refund, or, in some cases, reroute through another airline. So, in the event of a cancellation, it’s important to contact us or your airline, depending on how you booked your ticket.

Note:

  • Before travel – if a schedule change occurs before check-in or your travel date, we review the impact of the change. If it significantly affects your journey (e.g., UN/UC- Unable to Confirm/operate), we will explore the best available alternatives to rebook, and, in this case, the airline in question would allow a full refund.

  • During travel or after check-in, the airline is usually in control, and passengers are booked on the earliest available flight and given meal vouchers or hotel accommodations for lengthy delays:

We strongly advise travelers to review whether their travel insurance covers significant delays, missed connections, or additional expenses.

To reduce stress, always stay prepared. Keep essentials like a “delay kit” - snacks, water, chargers, and required documents - in your carry-on. Staying flexible and ready helps you handle situations calmly. There’s no need to panic. These issues are common in modern air travel, and as your agents, we will support you every step of the way.

By understanding airline policies and acting promptly, you can turn unexpected delays or cancellations into

manageable bumps along the journey rather than major disruptions.
